Does The Market Muse specialize in day trading or swing trading?
We specialize in both and generally use a combination of the two trading styles.

What time can I expect the newsletter to arrive?
It will vary to some extent, but it will usually arrive sometime between 8:30 p.m. and 8:30 a.m. eastern time.

I am recommending you to all my friends. If they subscribe do I get any kind of referral benefit?
No, but you get the satisfaction of knowing you've done a good deed for your friends.

I've noticed that you often advocate selling a partial position after its first move. How come?
We believe strongly in taking profits while you have them, and usually recommend locking in a portion of a gain early in the trade for insurance. Our motto is to never trust the market to keep your money safe for you.

Is there any way I can have Brinkley trade my portfolio for me?
No, but she'll help you to learn to trade in the style she's become accustomed to.

Does The Market Muse have a hedge fund I could find out about?
We get many requests to start a hedge fund, but for now prefer to focus on Brinkley's Trading Room and the newsletter. This may change in the future.

Can I day trade without real-time data?
Sure you can, if you have unlimited capital and feel like sharing it with Wall Street. Otherwise, we strongly recommend you get a real-time data feed before doing any active trading.

Should I try to buy all of the stocks that trigger off the alerts?
You may buy as many or as few stocks as you wish. However, in general, we do not recommend having too many open positions at a time, as it becomes too difficult to monitor them closely.

Does The Market Muse ever list stocks in the newsletter that might be suitable for an IRA?
Since we like to trade market leaders that have a combination of strong earnings, nice chart setups, and market favor, there will certainly be stock selections that would be good choices for an IRA, although many of the trading stocks we feature will be more volatile than typical IRA stocks. Strong IRA or longer-term hold candidates will be identified as such in the newsletter.

Will Brinkley reveal what she is personally trading, along with her entries and exits?
She may at times, but is under no obligation to describe her own trading activity. Because Brinkley almost always enters and exits her positions in stages, it can be complicated and confusing in a fast-moving market to disclose this information. The entry and exit guidelines she does provide are based on technical analysis taking into consideration individual stock action and surrounding market sentiment.

Does Brinkley take all or most of the trades featured in the newsletter and in the trading room?
Most likely not. Reason being, The Market Muse doesn't advocate being in lots of stocks simultaneously. Additionally, Brinkley has scaled back her personal trading activity for the time being so that she can focus on your trades and respond to your intraday needs. She would, however, be very comfortable taking any of the trades she posts alerts to.

Is Brinkley in the trading room all day, every day?
Not quite, and neither should you be-but she is there a lot. Brinkley is in the trading room most days from a little while before the open until midday. She will typically break during the slower 'lunch on Wall Street' and return for the last couple of hours. Trading is an intense business that can be both addictive and stressful. It is important to train yourself to break when you can.

Should I expect any downtime in the newsletter delivery and trading room? And if so, are these compensated?
There will inevitably be the occasional down day due to unexpected occurrences, in addition to some vacation and holiday time. You will be informed of any planned leave well in advance, but you should expect Brinkley to take approximately four to six weeks off out of the year. Missed days and vacation time will not be compensated, but we think you'll find that it all balances out.

I forgot my password. What do I need to do?
You can email subscriptions@themarketmuse.com and the information will be emailed back to you.

How many stocks are featured in each newsletter?
It will vary considerably depending on market conditions, as will the length of the newsletter. Some editions will be quite long with lots of charts to show, while others may be very brief when not much has changed from the previous letter. The weekend letter will typically be the most comprehensive.
